Bag of Books

Book Titles are – The Jungle Grapevine, Wolf Won’t Bite, Rabbit’s Spring Adventure, Hello Goodbye and Look out Stripy Horse.  The activity book is my Easter Activity book, it contains stickers, pop outs and various other Easter themed activities.

  1. I used to like the Mrs Pepperpot books and the Little Grey Rabbit series. Melody loves the Percy the Parkkepper books.

  2. The Tiger who came to tea by Judith Kerr & then later on I loved the My Naughty Little Sister series by D & S Hughes Edwards

  3. This would be great for my little boy he well into books at the mo especially when I do the voices !

  5. I love Ladybird’s Cinderella and would read it to compare her lovely dresses.

  7. Mine was , and still is the faraway tree books- I have recently started reading this set of books with my 6 year old and it has recaptured all the excitement the first time I read them… I stil want to find a tree with a slide down the middle and moonface living there!!!

  8. My favourite childhood book was Goldilocks and the Three Bears. As an adult I have enjoyed Spot the Dog book and The Hungry Caterpillar when reading to young children, they seem to love these type of books.

  9. always loved peter pan, so wanted to be Wendy flying off to Neverland over the rooftops of London.. now reading the same book with my daughter.

  10. Pippi Longstocking – loved the crazy stories about this super strong and confident girl

  11. Phoebe and the hot water bottles – loved it so much I called my daughter Phoebe

  12. Snow White and Rose Red was my favourite and I was lucky to win one at school prize giving :-)

  13. I loved the Meg and Mog books. So happy when my children also loved them, so I got to read them all over again.

  14. I loved “When I’m Older Than You” by Michael Rosen. It’s a poetry book. :)

  15. Love Black Beauty, but all the Enid Blyton books as well. Looking forward to getting them from the loft for my great-niece soon :) :D x

  16. I was a complete book worm so loved all books but especially liked all of roald dahl books and the famous five and secret seven books

  17. I loved all the Enid Blyton books but especially Mr Meddles Muddles & The Naughtiest Girl in School books

  18. I loved “the owl who was afraid of the dark” as a child, partly becasue it’s a great book, but partly because it belonged to my big sis! My little boy loves the stripy horse books (so would love to win these!!) and the amazing WOW! said the owl.

  19. My favourite childhood book was The Enchanted Wood by Enid Blyton; I’ve just been reunited with it (from my parents’ loft) – I must read it again to see if it still has the same magic I felt when I read it as a child, I do hope so.

  20. I loved the Tiger that came to tea but disappointingly haven’t convinced my daughter of this who much prefers room on the broom

  21. my favourite book was fantastic mr fox by roald dahl, I won it in middle school and must of read it 20 times! :-)

  22. I loved anything by Roald Dahl especially when my Dad read it to me and did all the voices!

  23. I loved a book called Piggy Pink – think it must be out of print as I haven’t seen it for a long time.

  24. Not sure I could limit to one book! Any of the Roald Dahl books, The Owl who was afraid of the dark, Malory towers, the worst witch….I could go on! :)

  25. I wasn’t very good at reading when I was younger, then my mum brought me this big red book full of fairtytales, the cover came off because it was read so many times!

  26. I loved Enid Blyton books when I was small because they were so far removed from my life, complete fantasy as far as I was concerned

  27. The most memorable book was Magic by the Lake. Infact I keep meaning to see if I can get hold of a copy to read to my grandchildren!

    Wonderful books, all of them. But there were so many to choose from! I still have pretty much all of my Childhood books which I kept for my Children! :D

  30. Without a doubt, Funny Bones!!!! Absolute classic, already bought it for my first child who isn’t due for another 17 weeks!!!!!!!

  31. I know this isn’t really a children’s book but animal farm is great – when you know about the subject :)

  33. A tough decision – there were so many favourites but Heidi was one of them.

  34. I loved most Roald Dahl books and also The Faraway Tree series by Enid Blyton.

  35. My grandchildren devour any books I can get them, whether charity, jumble, bootsale, or bought! I could add won to the list, if I win these, thank you!x

  36. More a favourite author than a favourite book – loved Enid Blyton’s Famous Five series, The Twins at St Clares and Mallory Towers

  37. The Sea of Adventure by Enid Blyton, and I also loved The Magician’s Nephew by CS Lewis

  38. I loved ‘the Famous Five’ books & later on ‘The Mallory Towers’ & ‘Chalet School’ books :)

  40. I love the Beatrix Potter books – Jemima Puddleduck was my favourite! :)

  41. I loved ‘the very hungry catrepillar’ and now both my kids do to :-)

  42. I always loved the runaway tree but at christmas and my all time favourite it was the night before christmas.

  43. any of the enid blyton books were my favourite, my gran would read them to me when i stayed at her house xx

  46. I loved Mog the Forgetful Cat – it was my teacher’s favourite and that clearly influenced me!

  47. OK people think I’m raving mad when I talk about this book, but it was about a family of ghosts who lived in this house and the grandma farted all the time. My mum used to read it to me and she’d proper laugh at that bit, which in turn made me laugh.

    I dont know the name of the book – I must ask mum about it, I’m beginning to believe it never happened :s

  48. Loved anything Enid Blyton, especially the faraway tree. Loved reading the Oh Dear book to my children though. It was funny when they were learning to talk and joined in…. “oh Dear, No eggs here!”
